As I write this, the financial markets are highly volatile. The dollar continues to plummet against currencies overseas. The housing market is shaky with foreclosures at a record high. The high cost of diesel and gas threatens to bring the economy to a halt. Some analysts say it’s going to get worse before it gets better. Others say it’s a downward trend that will shake out and correct itself. Only one thing is certain. God’s word remains the same regardless. His promises alone can be trusted. Hebrews 13:8 declares “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever”. Next month marks 31 years preaching the gospel. My testimony and observation is God has and will be faithful. He doesn’t change because of hard times. We need Him now more than ever. None of these things take God by surprise. May we draw near to Him. My goal is to stay BLESSABLE. In the words of the Psalmist David, “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer”, Psalm 19:14.
